Help Gabby Shanahan Send Springfield a Message: Lower Property Taxes
Illinois families are being crushed by some of the highest property taxes in the nation. For working families, seniors, young parents, and homeowners, the cost of staying in the community we love keeps going up.
Gabby Shanahan believes families deserve better.
That is why Gabby is leading with a citizen-led advisory referendum to send a clear message to Springfield: it is time to cap and lower property taxes. The referendum asks voters:
Should the General Assembly pass legislation that would cap and lower property taxes and would provide state funding to local governments that agree to reduce property taxes?
This is about giving voters a voice. It is about forcing Springfield to listen. And it is about making clear that families want real property tax relief, not more excuses.
Download the petition here. Support property tax relief. Help put this question before the voters.
By signing the petition, Voters can help place this advisory referendum on the November 2026 ballot and send a strong message that Springfield must act.
Once you’ve signed, please email us at team@gabbyforillinois.com and a member of our team will coordinate picking up the petition.
