Gabby Shanahan is a working mom, community leader, and proven fighter for Illinois families. She’s not a career politician, she’s one of us. Raised with the values of hard work, honesty, and perseverance, Gabby knows firsthand the challenges families face when prices rise, taxes climb, and opportunities feel out of reach.
As a first-generation college graduate, Gabby understands what it means to struggle and sacrifice in order to succeed. She and her husband have faced economic hardships and fought through them—an experience that shaped her passion for helping working families across Illinois. Today, Gabby is raising her three children here at home, determined to build a future where they, and all of our kids, can thrive.
Gabby has spent her career standing up for families in her community. From helping people access healthcare to giving parents a say in their kids schools and encouraging trade opportunities, she’s always been guided by the belief that government should serve the people, not the other way around.
She’s also seen up close the tragedy of mental illness and believes every family deserves access to the care and support they need.
Gabby understands better that our current incumbent will say anything to get reeelcted. She believes in the opposite approach. She is running to bring honesty and integrity to government so families can afford to stay and thrive in Illinois
